⚡ Universal Market Scanner

The complete guide to mastering the hybrid Day & Swing trading engine.

Overview

The Universal Market Scanner is a next-generation analysis tool designed to bridge the gap between Daytrading (Second-by-second moves) and Swing Trading (Daily trends). It uses a normalized mathematical engine to make every stock comparable, regardless of its price or typical volatility.

Core Philosophy: Instead of scanning for "Dollars Moved", we scan for "Statistical Outliers" using NATR (Normalized Average True Range) and Z-Scores.

The Mathematics

📊

NATR (Volatility)

Normalized Average True Range represents volatility as a percentage of price. A stock with 0.89% NATR typically moves 0.89% in a day.

Use Case: If a stock moves 2x its NATR in one hour, something significant is happening.

📏

Z-Score (Deviation)

Measures how far the current price is from the "Mean" (Average), in units of Standard Deviation.

Use Case: Z-Score > 2.0 is "Statistically Extreme". Z-Score > 4.0 is a "Black Swan" event.

The Workspace

The dashboard is organized into four interactive zones known as the "Dynamic Grid".

1. Live Opportunities (Zone B)

This is your command center. It lists stocks hitting our algorithms in real-time.

New Momentum Metrics (v2.1):
  • 1m %: Pure percentage move in the last 60 seconds.
  • 5m %: Cumulative move over the last 5 minutes. Essential for detecting trend starts.

Pro-Grade Context (v2.2):
  • RVOL (Relative Volume): How much volume is trading compared to normal?
    • Green (>1.0): Above average interest.
    • Purple (>2.0): Extreme interest (In Play).
  • Float: The number of shares available for trading. Low Float stocks (<20M) move faster and more violently.

Pro Tip: Click any row to instantly focus the Technical and Deep Dive cards on that symbol.

2. Review & Top Lists (New)

A dedicated card separating "Standing" from "Flow".

3. Technical Analysis (Zone C)

Visualizes the selected stock. Currently highlights Divergences and Dynamic Support/Resistance levels derived from the Universal Engine.

4. Features, Filters & Controls

5. Mastering the Filters (Advanced Strategy)

The new Phase 10 filter system allows you to isolate specific setups by hiding rows in the Live Opportunities table that don't match your criteria.

New: Smart Presets (v2.3)

Don't want to type numbers manually? We've added one-click buttons to the filter menu:

  • Penny Runner: Configures for explosive Small Caps ($1-$15, Float < 20M, RVOL > 2.0).
  • Blue Chip Breakout: Targets large cap stability (Price > $20, RVOL > 1.5).
  • High Volume: Pure momentum scan (Any price, RVOL > 3.0).

You can click a preset to pre-fill the values, then manually tweak them before applying.

🚀 The "Low Float Runner"

Catches explosive penny stocks.

  • Price: $1 - $10
  • Float: Max 20M (Millions)
  • RVOL: Min 2.0 (Extreme Volume)

🏛️ The "Blue Chip Breakout"

Reliable moves in stable companies.

  • Price: Min $50
  • Float: No Limit (Empty)
  • RVOL: Min 1.5

🔊 The "Noise Cancellation"

Filters out low-quality chop.

  • Price: Min $2.00 (Avoid sub-dollar)
  • RVOL: Min 1.0 (Must have above avg volume)

6. Audio & Smart Alerts (Updated)

The audio system has been upgraded to be "Context Aware":

7. Productivity Boosters

Right-Click Copy: You can now Right-Click any symbol in the Scanner, Top Lists, or Ticker Tape to instantly copy it to your clipboard. A toast notification will confirm ("AAPL Copied!"). Great for quickly pasting into TradingView or Discord.

8. Deep Dive (Zone D)

Provides context beyond price.

9. Hive Mind (Zone E)

You are not alone. The P2P module allows you to see signals generated by other users' scanners in the network. This "Crowd Validation" helps confirm if a move is real.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the screen flashing green?

Green flashes indicate a new "Daytrading" signal. The stock is moving fast right now.

What does 'Peer Confirmed' mean?

It means at least 3 other users in the P2P network have also triggered a scan alert for this symbol within the last 60 seconds.
